Taken from Ryde Pier and looking back towards Union Street... Some things may have gone (the ponies offering rides for starters!) since the picture was taken but an awful lot still remains recognisable fifty-plus years on!

A busy shot taken from the roof of the Pavilion - lots to see here! As well as the fashions of the day on show, one of the diesel ferries (the Southsea or Brading) is at the pier head, the rowing club halfway up the pier is still present, as is the pavilion/ballroom/café/restaurant/roller-skating rink/pub!

Looking towards what is now the bus station, this shot of the Esplanade is full of period detail. What strikes me about this shot is that it truly is a snapshot of time past, complete with bus route number, adverts and names of shops long since gone...
