Ventnor
Another pier that is no longer with us...
The archetypcal seaside shot! Another wonderfully busy image with so much going on. Numerous holiday makers are sunning themselves in a deckchair rented from Blakes, whose office consisted of an old Victorian bathing wagon.
An elevated view of the base of the pier and esplanade at the bottom of the cascade. Most likely shot from the Winter Gardens...
...and here they are! The building’s art deco design, already about twenty years old when this was taken is rounded off nicely by a car making it’s way down the cascade.
Here we another great ‘beach & pier & esplanade’ view that perfectly sums up sunny Ventnor!
What a cracking shot of Ventnor showing the Cascade,Winter Gardens and Ventnor Chain Home Masts, which were dismantled in 1957, so this must have been taken before this date.
